Rev Your Classroom Engines, It's 2016!

Posted by Michelle Dempsey, Book Specialist on Jan 6th 2016

You know those people who throw their seat belts off and get out of the car before it’s barely had a chance to stop moving? Yep – that’s pretty much how teachers, students, and administrators view the start of Winter Break. It comes way too slowly, after an onslaught of responsibilities, exams, and report cards, passes by way too quickly, and before you know it – students are back in their same seats, pencils in hand, likely writing some “Over My Vacation I…” journal entries.

It’s totally okay to admit the truth here – this is the time of year where your educational engine may feel like it needs a jump start. Like you’re stuck in the holiday vacation parking space in neutral, hoping for a push – don’t worry school-folk, our Bulk Bookstore specialists have got you covered. As hard as it may feel to get out of your bed on the morning upon your return to school in the New Year, it CAN be just as exciting and refreshing to have a brand new start with the kiddos.

A blank slate and a new outlook has never done any harm, and it can be just the “push” you need to turn those back to school frowns upside down. At the Bulk Bookstore, where frowning is frowned upon, our Book Specialists would like to recommend a little reading to help.

Happy New Year Around the World by Sylvia Walker, 9780486489889

With Happy New Year Around the World , students have a chance to replay the excitement of their own New Year celebrations while learning about some exciting customs and traditions around the globe. Author Sylvia Walker has you covered from Nigeria to Brazil and everywhere in between, with vivid pictures to match.

This new year, be sure to do yourselves (and your students!) the favor of bringing your best self back to the classroom.
