Printz Award Winners

Created as a counterpart to the Newbery Medal, the Michael L. Printz Award annually recognizes the best in young adult literature. Sponsored by Booklist, a publication of the American Library Association, and administered by the Young Adult Library Services Association division of the ALA, the Printz Awards reflect the hopes and dreams of their namesake, Michael L. Printz.

A school librarian from Kansas and former YALSA active member, Michael L. Printz appreciated young adult authors and even began an author-in-residence program at his high school! Winners of this awesome award match the passion and vision of the hopeful teacher, who knew that books for teens had earned their place in the world of literary prestige.
