Described by author R.J. Palacio as “a meditation on kindness”, #1 New York Times bestseller Wonder has inspired millions – and even the Choose Kind movement.
Inspired by the lyrics Natalie Merchant’s song “Wonder” and an interaction with her son at an ice cream shop, Palacio penned the widely successful Wonder, the story of 10 year old Auggie Pullman, a home-schooled child with a rare medical facial deformity.
Enrolled in a school where he will be taught alongside other children for the first time in his life, Wonder begins from Auggie’s perspective, switching to various character perspectives as the story unfolds. The change in perspective from Auggie to his classmates, his sister, his sister’s boyfriend, and beyond paints a picture of an entire community’s struggle with acceptance, empathy, and understanding of those who are different.
In a day and age where bullying has become an epidemic, Wonder is an unbelievably important asset for teachers and parents who are yearning to assist children in understanding the world around them, and how to handle relationships with others who may be a little different.
A wise choice to buy in bulk, Wonder proves that you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out!

I was given a grant to help promote kindness, understanding, and anti-bullying practices at our school. Part of the grant money went to buying 40 Wonder books. The books arrived quickly, were brand new and in excellent condition because of how well they were packaged, and our students are loving the story! It's easy for them to see that to "Choose Kind" is the only way to go! Thank you for helping us spread the message!

I was able to order enough books to organize literary circles with my students, in multiple classrooms, from Bulk Bookstore. With 25 books, I can allow five students in five different classrooms to read the same text. This schoolwide reading technique extends conversations of literature beyond individual classrooms and into the hearts of students. Wonder is a perfect book to order for this endeavor, as it is relatable to our students and really makes them think about how they treat others.

I'm doing a lesson plan involving the Growth Mindset, and incorporating the Wonder novel into my lesson plan. From this book, my students will learn a life-long message of tolerance and acceptance, as well as practice on their reading skills, vocabulary, comprehension, and reading for enjoyment.

My middle school students can't wait to read Wonder. We'll be reading this book together as a reading unit, instead of our usual read aloud. Looking forward to some great discussions.

I am a special education teacher who gives my students a book of their own each month to keep forever. Too many of my students have never had a brand new book of their own. By the end of the school year they will have received ten books. "Wonder" is an incredible story that pertains to my students very well.

I am a fourth grade teacher, and bought Wonder for my students! Books put us in the shoes of characters we wish we were, or those we don't always understand. We become better for having read about someone else's journey.

I teach gifted learners in an inner city school, and will be using these books to start our kindness anti bullying service learning project. I'm glad to have been able to find the copies of Wonder that I need for this initiative at Bulk Bookstore for a great price!

I purchased a set of Wonder for my classroom. I'm looking forward to the positive impact this book will have on my students. I believe that exposure to kindness and empathy early on definitely has a lasting affect on a child's life, and want to get this book in to the hands of my eager young readers.

As a teacher, I try to bring books back to revisit with my students in ways we haven't tried before. We've read Wonder in the past, but are now reading it with the intention of increasing student fluency, identification of new words, understanding how to pace while reading - plus, seeing a story come to life right before their eyes. Wonder is a fabulous book to do this exercise alongside.

I teach 4th grade students, who are at the age where they must begin to learn about others, their feelings, and how their actions affect each other. Wonder explains this sensitively and easily for young readers, which makes it the ideal book for a lesson like this one.

I am a 5th grade ELA teacher. We use class sets to teach reading strategies, as well as for literature circles and level reads. This year, we wanted to add a couple new books to our curriculum and Wonder was one of them. I teach a large amount of students, and am very excited to read Wonder with them.

I teach 'Wonder' in my 6th grade classroom. 'Wonder' is perfect for students at this reading level and age group, and teaches important lessons on tolerance and compassion. It's great to be able to incorporate elements like this into assignments that would usually bore students - the relatability of 'Wonder' keeps them consistently engaged. Great read!

I work for a volunteer management non-profit and we do a number of literacy and craft projects where we will read a book with students and do a craft activity with them, as well as kit backing where we can fill kits with books for school children. We found the books we needed with Bulk Bookstore, and they were all delivered on time, in perfect shape. I will definitely refer my colleagues to you guys in the future!

I purchased the book Wonder after I read a review from a fellow teacher. After reading the book myself I was so moved and touched by the story that I felt every student in public schools should read this book. It is so heart felt and moving. I first read the book with YMCA students in an after school program I volunteered for. The kids LOVED it. They were glued to each page! When the school year began again, we read it in our reading groups along with the audio. This was an amazing way to get students who are low readers to see the words and be able to keep up with the story plot. They were so proud of themselves for finishing a whole chapter book!
