Overview

Described by author R.J. Palacio as “a meditation on kindness”, #1 New York Times bestseller Wonder has inspired millions – and even the Choose Kind movement.

Inspired by the lyrics Natalie Merchant’s song “Wonder” and an interaction with her son at an ice cream shop, Palacio penned the widely successful Wonder, the story of 10 year old Auggie Pullman, a home-schooled child with a rare medical facial deformity.

Enrolled in a school where he will be taught alongside other children for the first time in his life, Wonder begins from Auggie’s perspective, switching to various character perspectives as the story unfolds. The change in perspective from Auggie to his classmates, his sister, his sister’s boyfriend, and beyond paints a picture of an entire community’s struggle with acceptance, empathy, and understanding of those who are different.

In a day and age where bullying has become an epidemic, Wonder is an unbelievably important asset for teachers and parents who are yearning to assist children in understanding the world around them, and how to handle relationships with others who may be a little different.

A wise choice to buy in bulk, Wonder proves that you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out!

  1. Books & Crafts 5 Star Review

Posted by on May 3rd 2017

I work for a volunteer management non-profit and we do a number of literacy and craft projects where we will read a book with students and do a craft activity with them, as well as kit backing where we can fill kits with books for school children. We found the books we needed with Bulk Bookstore, and they were all delivered on time, in perfect shape. I will definitely refer my colleagues to you guys in the future!

  2. Changed How my students See Others! 5 Star Review

Posted by on Nov 10th 2016

I purchased the book Wonder after I read a review from a fellow teacher. After reading the book myself I was so moved and touched by the story that I felt every student in public schools should read this book. It is so heart felt and moving. I first read the book with YMCA students in an after school program I volunteered for. The kids LOVED it. They were glued to each page! When the school year began again, we read it in our reading groups along with the audio. This was an amazing way to get students who are low readers to see the words and be able to keep up with the story plot. They were so proud of themselves for finishing a whole chapter book!
