Overview
ENGLISH DESCRIPTION
Adam Gorozpe is an upstart, a fact he freely acknowledges. His fortuitous marriage to Priscila—heiress to powerful businessman Celestino Holguín—transforms him from a lowly law-school graduate to an influential attorney, a man who now rules over the lives of people and extensive properties, a man that is held in the highest regard.
Adam Góngora is the National Security Secretary; a tiny slip of a man, the extent of his cruelty belies the shortness of his stature. In a country weighed down by massive corruption, his goal is to end the chaos. Góngora's clean-up methods are horrifying: the incompetent are eliminated, the innocent locked behind bars or assassinated.
One day, Góngora invites Gorozpe to run for the magistrature. But Gorozpe knows it is time to get rid of, or at least neutralize, Góngora. So, how does one proceed when faced with an adversary of this caliber? How does a person stop the current that seems to be dragging the country directly down the drain?
Faith is the only alternative, the only viable way. A winged child begins preaching in the middle of one of the main avenues in the city; his mother, the Virgin, stands by his side. The child's wings are fake, but nobody cares. People believe, they want to believe, and that is all that matters.
In this grand finale, each character finds its proper ending by the hands of the Sigfridos, the armed forces of death who, called in by Adam Gorozpe, arrive to eliminate the plague.
