Overview
ENGLISH DESCRIPTION
After the success of Story of a Cat, Laura Agustí returns with a book of delicate beauty—an homage to nature and the language of plants.
Tired of a stressful life in the city, Laura decided to move to a house in Nevà, a small town in the Pyrenees, with her partner. The idea is to spend a three-month trial period before taking the big leap and, perhaps, move there permanently.
Soon, she reunites with an entire ecosystem that is very familiar to her, which she had almost forgotten: the ecosystem of her childhood in the cold land of Teruel, surrounded by the language of flowers, trees, and plants, as well as an entire lineage of women committed to love and the knowledge of nature, who inject her with “botanical frenzy.” Her great-grandmother Pilar, who used to cure discouragement with saffron and St. John’s wort; her grandmother Carmen, with whom Laura went olive picking; her mother, who keeps sending her rubbing alcohol, and her sister Marina, who calms her daughter’s tantrums with essential oils.
Between memories woven into splendid illustrations, hikes along forest trails to gather mushrooms, projects for her new home, and tips for landscaping our lives, Laura shows us the exuberant kindness of the world of plants.
