Sin embargo, casi nadie cuenta con lo que puede aportar a la investigación Alice Leclerc, la narradora de esta historia. Es la esposa de Girard y conoce el caso original mejor que nadie, porque a los trece años vivió muy de cerca lo que pasó. Por entonces vivía con su madre y su padrastro, que regentaban un hotel en la zona, y luego volcó aquella experiencia en un libro que la convirtió en una celebridad… pero en persona non grata en As Boiras.

In As Boiras, a town of High Aragon, the body of Emma Lenglet, daughter of a French senator, was found. The killer’s modus operandi is similar to what the Butcher of the Valley did three decades before. Actually, it has been a month since Marzal Castán, the psychopath who hunted and bled to death six teenagers in the mid nineties, was released from prison to receive palliative care, and has now returned to the Pyrenees.
Sherif Kevin Girard, an agent specialized in serial killers, just arrived from France to cooperate with the Civil Guard, since they suspect the existence of a copycat, an admirer imitating those old crimes without stopping at just one victim.
On the other hand, almost no one is counting on what Alice Leclerc, the narrator of our story, can contribute to the investigation. She is Girard’s wife and knows the original case better than anyone since, at thirteen years old, she witnessed what happened up close. Back then she was living with her mother and her stepfather, who ran a hotel in the neighborhood, and later poured her experience in a book that turned her into a celebrity... and a persona non grata in As Boiras.
