Acorn, a teenager living in the fortified town of Sanctuary, has been taught how to survive in this world overrun by manticore, though he’s never seen one. When a young man escapes Sanctuary with an unspeakable plan—to become a manticore himself—Acorn joins the search party. Leaving home for the first time, he soon comes face-to-face with the nightmarish monsters that have brought mankind to the brink of extinction.
