The twelve books of the Apollo Photo Archive comprise the most comprehensive pictorial record of America’s moon-landing program ever published. Each volume contains more than 750 photos and detailed captions illustrating all aspects of these historic flights. Beginning with the fatal Apollo 1 tragedy, each book then individually chronicles the next eleven missions that included the first six lunar landings. From Apollo 7 through Apollo 17, each volume covers the arrival and assembly of the rocket and spacecraft, crew selection and training, pad rollout, preflight activities, countdown, launch, the flight itself, splashdown, and subsequent crew appearances and related activities. October 11, 1968, and the launch of Apollo 7 marked NASA's first manned spaceflight after the Apollo 1 disaster of January 1967. The success of Apollo 7 helped redirect the course of the Apollo program and, therefore, space history.
