The second book in the Betsy-Tacy series chronicles the girls' adventures at age 8, from building a house in Tib's basement and making "Everything Pudding" to cutting their hair and spying on their older siblings. The Betsy-Tacy stories by Maud Hart Lovelace, loved since their first publication in the 1940s, continue to charm young readers with heartwarming stories of growing up in southern Minnesota in the late 1800s. Published for the first time in a picture book edition, this version uses abridged text alongside newly colored versions of Lois Lenski's illustrations, making Betsy-Tacy accessible to young readers who aren't quite ready for chapter books.
