While John Dillinger was still a kid stealing coal in Indianapolis, a murderous bandit, working solo out of a Model T, hit three Downtown Cincinnati banks in one day. His minion, who was also his stylish wife, stayed home to tend the baby. A few years later, a devilishly handsome but unstable charmer returned from dating Hollywood starlets to his boyhood home in Cincinnati and knocked over a bank in Madisonville. Following WWI, a Navy veteran who had been raised in the West End turned bloodthirsty gang enforcer and then bank robber. His moll stayed by his side as Cincinnati’s top sleuth tracked him around Ohio and surrounding states. She was carrying his pistol when the law closed in. Meanwhile, a Reading boy robbed the bank where his mother held stock. The love triangle in his gang made as much news as his eight bank robberies.
