The requirements for making a decision are deceptively simple: knowledge of the past, present knowledge, and awareness of future possibilities. In order to arrive at a decision, you must first consider those factors in the past that are relevant to the pending decision. Next, you will want to consider conditions that exist at the moment. Before making your final decision, you must give careful thought to what the results of your choice might be. Reviewing the three requirements, it would appear that decision making is a relatively easy process to execute. Its simplicity should allow you not only to make a decision, but to make the decision that is the most appropriate. Yet, we know that this is not always true. Relevant and accurate information is essential.
