But when her twin brother Maji is charged with stealing water and sentenced to death, Omi is forced into action. Facing dangerous fainting spells and racing against time, Omi enters the dangerous underworld of water peddlers. As her family’s painful past collides with the unsustainable present, Omi must decide whether survival means continuing to obey Ark’s rules or risking everything to fight back.
