This is a book researched, written and reported with an eye toward 2050. What will our lives be like by mid-century? The author, a well-respected journalist and writer, will turn 100 that year, but he doesn’t expect to blow out the candles on his cake because, let’s face it, he isn’t following the advice out there about how to live until the age of 130. All he asks for is enough time to gauge whether some his predictions – including the ones in this book –will come true.
Jáuregui dedicates his work to today’s young people, especially “the Gen Z of the future Leonor I,” who are still in time to benefit from the recommendations of the hundreds of experts he cites in this book, whose alternate title could be: “Happiness is two and a half decades away, and you’d better start looking for it now.” Change is much more than a search for happiness or even immortality, which it also addresses; it is about understanding that the New Era, the Great Transformation, will affect us all, in every sense, all the time.
