Ascensión, Carmen y Rosalía no son unas abuelitas corrientes. Viven con Marcelo, el nieto de Ascensión, y comparten con él un curioso pasatiempo: resolver misterios. Por eso, han decidido ayudar a su vecina Margarita a descubrir quién es el dueño del perro que le deja una caca delante en la puerta todos los días. Su investigación se interpondrá en los planes de unos ladrones que acaban de robar el banco del barrio. Los cacos no saben lo que se les viene encima. Armadas de mortíferas armas como agujas de tricotar, pantuflas y perfumes anestésicos, las abuelas están dispuestas a todo para que los ladrones no se salgan con la suya.
