Violette Toussaint is in charge of the cemetery of a small town in Burgundy. Her coffee, her smile, and her conversation comfort all those who accompany their loved ones on their last journey. Violette's life revolves around visits from newcomers and regular townspeople, everyday burial routines, and the task of placing fresh water on the flower pots so that there is always a fresh and cheerful bouquet next to the dead. However, one day, some strangers’ decisions to rest together forever on a plot of land will make her otherwise stable life, wobble.
