Wiesbaden, 1959. Hilde, the family’s young daughter, now runs The Angel Café and she has brought a breath of fresh air to the traditional establishment. Furthermore, the new pastry chef turns out to be quite a discovery, and his tempting pastry creations attract more and more new customers.
However, Hilde and her cousin Luisa have reasons to fear for their personal happiness: Jean-Jacques, Hilde's husband, spends a lot of time with the beautiful French woman who works in their vineyards, and Fritz, Luisa's husband, seems to be keeping something from her.
