DESCRIPTION

The book " Kai muzos mirš ta" ( "When muses are dying") - is Gabriele Dabasinskaite's 44 graphic drawings and 56 poems collection. This book includes two parts: 44 Lithuanian poems and 12 English language poems.
This project took 3 years to be created. First Gabriele's drawings originally were created for an Exhibition " Search Of The Inner Child" in 2022, which took place in Lithuanian World Center, "Soul" gallery in Lemont. But later on Gabriele created poems for each of her drawings and that's how collection "When muses are dying" was born.
Gabriele Dabasinskaite found the passion for arts in early childhood. After studies, she came to America, and her creativity was forgotten for almost twenty years. Quietly waiting for the rebirth. She says: "When my feelings were awakened by some of life's triggers, I woke up my inner "Me" and it's pouring with all kinds of arts to the world ever since and it can't be stoped. This book - my soul which finally got a body."
Gabriele's artistic style is very unique, mystical and secretive. Drawings hold lots of symbolic elements, lots of details, inspired by Lithuanian folklore, Paganism, Greek mythology as well as zodiacs characters. The author also loves "mandala" inspiration. Mandalas has a special place in her heart and creating them has been a long life's journey for over then a decade. It's not enough only a glimpse to see Gabriele's drawing. Every time you will see something you didn't see the first time.
This book - is a beautiful unique gift, for a person who is a little bit different. Who loves arts and poetry. Or maybe going trough some kind of hurtful change in his/her life.
The main idea for a books' name " When muses are dying", came from lost love. People who came to your life, left a deep mark in your heart, opened up your creativity, but they not there anymore. This book is like saying goodbye to your past, goodbye to the older you, you once were, by opening the window to new life, new feelings, new people and adventures… by letting go…
