Para ello tiene que sortear el interés mediático del caso, las resistencias retrógradas de una institución policial en la que la democracia apenas se ha instalado todavía y la oposición de su familia, que desaprueba su trabajo como inspectora.
A cada nuevo descubrimiento le sucede una nueva muerte que termina conduciendo a Liébana a una trama golpista. ¿Podrá impedir la conspiración para acabar con la joven democracia española mientras encuentra su lugar en la Policía y en su familia?

Year 1983. Matilde Liébana, a member of the first class of female inspectors in Spain’s Superior Police Corps, investigates the brutal murder of a young gay man in Madrid’s troubled San Blas neighborhood. To solve the case, she must navigate the intense media scrutiny, the reactionary resistance within a police force where democracy has only just begun to take root, and the disapproval of her own family, who disdains her profession.
With each new discovery comes another death, leading Liébana to uncover a coup plot. Can she stop the conspiracy threatening Spain’s fledgling democracy while also finding her place in the police—and within her own family?
