Desde que heredó de sus padres la casa de verano, Ramón pasa allí todos los fines de semana y dedica muchas horas a un pasatiempo muy curioso: observar desde la terraza y describir en una libreta a los distintos personajes que pasean y se detienen frente a él, en el banco junto al río. Así se convierte en espectador de fragmentos anodinos de vidas ajenas. Pero este juego aparentemente inocente revela una cara oscura y peligrosa el día en que se sienta en el banco una desconocida misteriosa con una bolsa de deporte. Cuando la mujer se marcha y se olvida la bolsa en el banco, Ramón no sabe si intervenir o no. ¿La ha dejado allí a propósito? ¿Volverá para recuperarla? ¿Qué debe de haber dentro de la bolsa?
