In this autobiographical book, Piedad Bonnett shares her experiences to reflect upon the factors that define our everyday lives. She speaks sensibly and with clarity of what determines women’s experiences—education, marriage, maternity, taboos associated with the body, and gender violence—but also of anxiety, fear, rebelliousness, the longing for freedom, and the obsessions that propel the process of writing.
With a forceful, poetic prose, permeated by humor and irony, the author addresses the different times she has witnessed, where we catch a glimpse of the many women she has been. Her path of acknowledgement is forever unfinished since, same as her, “we are all inapprehensible. We are rectifiable, as when we want words to answer for us.
