But Jeanne decides to take full control and continue running the family business on her own, despite knowing that she will have to fight to prevail in a world run by ruthless men. She soon seeks the help of Barbe-Nicole Cliquot, who, after the death of her own husband, created a wine empire with just a handful of vineyards. Jeanne learns a lot from the older Cliquot, who witnessed the French Revolution when she was a child and survived against all odds.
