Paris. Grit’s father dies unexpectedly during a rehearsal. She manages to finish the tour in his memory, but when Grit realizes she is pregnant, she boards the next ship to New Zealand to go visit her mother, Nellie. There, the famous pianist will have to come to terms with her past before she can think of her future.
New Zealand. Helena sees her dreams of being in charge of the mares frustrated when she learns that her grandfather is betting on a male heir. And when her mother, whom she has barely been in contact with, arrives, Helena’s world will be shaken.
