In the midst of the confusion, Tiago, a humble blacksmith, gets separated from his wife, Mencia, who is pregnant with child. She manages to flee. He is captured and, along with other prisoners, is forced to carry the bells of the basilica to Córdoba on a journey fraught with danger. Thus begins a frenetic adventure that will force Mencia to fight for survival while Tiago desperately tries to return to her side.
