A new anthology of poems dedicated to love, one of Gloria Fuertes' major themes, has been released.
Following the success of the two books published by Blackie Books in 2017, this new collection focuses on the poet's most intimate side through a hundred poems that explore love and heartbreak.
The poems are filled with imagery of beds, mouths, attics, tears, rivers, bodies, and sleepless nights.
Gloria Fuertes viewed love as something involuntary, like poetry or hiccups, and throughout her life, she loved and wrote with a spirit of freedom and tenderness that was unusual in Spain at her time. Her heart was broken a thousand times, and a thousand times she mended it to keep loving.
This anthology presents a personal imaginary of a unique poet, an ignored island, and the "Patroness of Forbidden Loves."
