Tras su apostasía, se enfrentan a dos destinos contrapuestos: uno se orienta por los caminos de la teología de la liberación, trabaja en las comunidades indígenas de México y participa en el proceso político que acabó con la dictadura somocista de Nicaragua; otro se dedica al estudio de la arquitectura barroca mexicana y acaba poseído por una obsesión satánica que lo obnubila en sus últimos días.

After their apostasy, they face two opposing destinies: one follows the path of liberation theology, working in Mexico’s indigenous communities and participating in the political process that ended Nicaragua’s Somoza dictatorship; the other devotes himself to the study of Mexican baroque architecture and ends up consumed by a satanic obsession that clouds his final days.
