These are the questions that haunt Celina, a woman who, since childhood, has been dissatisfied with the expectations that her environment has dictated to her. Lonely, curious, and above all rebellious, the protagonist of Los dos tiempos embodies the challenge of being an independent woman in the first half of the 20th century—from building emotional bonds to participating in political life—experiencing tensions and concerns that remain very relevant today.
In this novel, the first published by Elisa Mújica, the author questions what it means to "be a good woman" from the perspective of others and dethrones the romantic quest, so common in stories with female protagonists, in favor of an exploration of mutual care among friends and personal self-definition.
