Marcela, an activist in deep mourning after the murder of her spouse, tries to explain the crime that occurred when they were both filming a documentary about the ecocide perpetrated by illegal mining in the Madre de Dios region of Peru, where, in violation of environmental regulations and in complicity with government officials and criminal groups, miners extract gold from riverbeds. Despite the tragedy, Marcela decides to continue with the documentary project and immerses herself in both a physical and emotional journey through the Amazon.
