More than one hundred and fifty years have passed since then, but the camaraderie of the four March sisters, who embody the critical spirit of an era in their gestures and words, continues to inspire and delight generations of readers who open the pages of this fascinating work for the first time.
Elaine Showalter's introduction, a professor at Princeton University and one of the most representative voices of feminist literary criticism, analyzes in detail Alcott's influences and the impact of Little Women on the works of writers such as Simone de Beauvoir and Joyce Carol Oates.
