In this picture book based on her childhood, she tells the story of how she first learned to stand up for herself, both on a skateboard and in life. When people grab her wheelchair, to push her to class or onto the bus after school, she's too shocked and too sad to say no. The people around her don't understand that she moves herself. But when she rides a skateboard for the first time, she experiences a new sense of freedom and joy, and she finally finds her voice.
