Overview
An inspirational story about the power of standing up for what you believe in.
“We are the ogres!
A horrible lot.
We take what we want and we want what you’ve got."
But one of the ogres stood out from the crowd.
His boots not so heavy. His voice, not so loud.
He saw all the world in its delicate splendor . . .
This ogre was different. This ogre was tender.
Ogre longs for something more than bullying and being mean. So, when a chance encounter with a protective mama bird prompts a big reaction, things begin to change. Will he stay on his destructive path? And what will happen to the rest of the ogre “friends”? Aspirational and moving, with a powerful environmental theme, this story will make young readers see all the good they are capable of and stand up for things and people that are important to them.
