Tras un matrimonio fallido en Londres, Etna regresa con su hija a Galicia para asistir al entierro de su abuela, con la que ha perdido el contacto hace muchos años. Allí descubre que su muerte está ligada a un símbolo extraño, el mismo que ha plagado sus pesadillas desde pequeña y el que su hija no cesa de dibujar.
A los pocos días, vuelve a ver ese símbolo en el colgante de una extraña mujer en una feria.
Este encuentro la llevará a una aldea remota en las montañas donde el pan es mágico, las mujeres menstrúan a la vez y las mouras encantadas otorgan dones a aquellas mortales que las ayudan a parir.

After a failed marriage in London, Etna returns with her daughter, Galicia, to attend her grandmother’s funeral, with whom she had lost touch many years prior. There she discovers that her grandmother’s death is linked to a strange symbol, the same symbol that has plagued her nightmares since childhood, and one her daughter can’t seem to stop drawing.
A few days after, Etna sees a pendant with the symbol hanging from a strange woman’s neck at the fair.
This encounter will take them to a remote mountain village where bread is magical, women menstruate at the same time, and enchanted mouras bestow gifts to any mortal who helps them through delivery.
