Overview
This book, produced in collaboration with Agence France-Presse, offers a fresh perspective on Paris through the AFP's photographic archives. Bringing together 200 images, several of them previously unpublished, Paris: Agence France-Presse Archives traces the transformations of the capital, from the Liberation of Paris to the Notre-Dame fire in 2019, including May '68, major construction projects, fashion shows, and scenes of everyday life. Restored and meticulously documented, these photographs reveal as much about the evolution of the city as about the evolution of photography itself. A true journey through time, this book shows how news photographs have become major witnesses to our heritage.
In 2026, the bicentennial year of photography, this book highlights the essential role of archives in transmitting history and shaping our view of the city.
