Alejandra Pizarnik is a cult figure in Hispanic literature, an author who ventured into depths rarely explored in Spanish-language writing. Her poetry is marked by profound intimacy and austere sensuality—or, in the words of Octavio Paz, Pizarnik’s work achieves a “verbal crystallization through an amalgam of passionate insomnia and midday lucidity in a dissolution of reality subjected to the highest temperatures.”
Edited by Ana Becciu, this edition includes the poetry collections published during Pizarnik’s lifetime, along with previously unpublished poems compiled from her manuscripts.
