Overview
“Pat’s paintings capture the adventure of it all …”
Ernest K. Gann, American Novelist and Adventurer.
Born in 1948, Patrick Haskett grew up on the shores of Budd Inlet and on the Washington National Guard's Camp Murray. Back then, the Puget Sound waterfront cities were sooty and grimy, their harbors brimming with log towing, mills, and commerce.
Patrick developed a fervor for both maritime and military history as well as a penchant for painting. After enlisting in the Army, he took on the rare and unusual position of combat artist in Korea. His experience faithfully recording scenes of war shaped him as a man and artist as surely as his later work as a tugboat captain.
Together with his wife, Debbie, Patrick built a life full of adventure that carried through to his paintings. His unique eye for detail and carefully rendered subjects captured the attention of the world. His fine art has been featured in the Smithsonian, the Washington D.C. Senate Rotunda, the World Trade Center Boston, internationally, and in private collections.
