Overview
A richly suspenseful novel about three quant traders navigating their first year at an elite trading firm, written by a twenty-four-year-old tech entrepreneur who is currently an MFA student at Columbia University.
Imagine The Secret History set on Wall Street.
Tomás, Henry, and Blake are the golden trio of Alatix Capital, an elite, high-frequency trading firm. Tomás, a self-taught math prodigy from rural Oklahoma, arrives at the firm without an Ivy League degree but with a gambler’s edge. Blake, a software engineer and sorority reject, is determined to stake her claim on a floor run almost entirely by men. Henry, the son of a disgraced hedge fund manager, is desperate to prove that he’s more than his family’s last name. Together, they are bound by intellect, loyalty, and a near-religious faith in their shared success.
Over the course of a year, the three inseparable friends ascend from junior traders to millionaires in the making. As they navigate hundred-hour workweeks and ethical challenges, their judgments become increasingly clouded by love, ambition, and a hunger for more. QUANT asks the question: In a game of perfect information, what can’t you see coming?
