Overview
Muhidin is growing up in a peaceful farming village in Somalia, where life is rooted in the land and community—until one day when armed men arrive. Forced to flee his home, Muhidin comes of age in a refugee camp in Kenya, carrying memories of the beloved life he left behind. Years later, he moves his own family to Syracuse, New York, where they struggle to adapt to the unfamiliar urban territory. Determined to rebuild what was lost, Muhidin unites fellow Somali refugees on Liberation Farms, a community farm in Maine, where they cultivate vegetables and hope for a better future.
