Eleven-year-old Charlie Dembinski knows how to make his group project for science class an organized and informative success. Unfortunately for Charlie, his (reluctant) best friend, Amy Ma, would rather it be interesting, fun and just a bit gross. And their other partner, Jenna Yee, is too worried about why her puppy, Diesel, keeps attacking her mom to think about their project. Luckily for Jenna, Charlie’s mom is a veterinarian, and Amy and Charlie are keen to help figure out what Diesel’s problem is.
