November 1944. In and around the Hürtgen Forest, some of the most brutally intense combat of WWII has been under way. In the middle of this meat grinder, Sgt. Rock and the men of Easy Company—Ice Cream Soldier, Bulldozer, Wildman, Little Sure Shot and a batch of greenhorns sneak be- hind enemy lines. Their mission? To capture a group of German Intelligence officers, in the hopes of learning a way to break the stalemate in the forest. After a harrowing battle, they accomplish what they set out to do. Four SS officers are now Easy’s prisoners.
By daybreak the fighting is over and the enemy forces are nowhere to be found. But all the prisoners have been mercilessly butchered in the night. All but one. And somehow, he’s escaped.
So in the midst of war, where men are trained to kill other men without remorse, and with no commanding officer to defer to, Sgt. Rock finds himself hunting down a murderer. For the sake of his company’s future and his own moral code, Rock must uncover the truth no matter what the cost.
