Overview
The Clayton couple find themselves stranded in the coastal jungles of Africa, with little hope of rescue. When Alice Clayton gives birth to a son, the family attempts to build a life in their remote surroundings. But tragedy soon strikes. Alice dies when her child is only a year old, and John Clayton is killed by Kerchak, the leader of a tribe of apes, leaving the infant helpless in the wilderness.
The child is saved by Kala, a compassionate she-ape who adopts him and raises him as her own. Growing up among the apes, he becomes Tarzan, the legendary ape-man. The jungle becomes his home. He earns his place within the ape tribe, forms bonds with other animals and proves his strength against the many dangers of the wild.
Yet when Tarzan discovers the abandoned cabin that once belonged to his parents, long-buried questions about his identity begin to surface.
