His son Henry would marry Alice Neville, sister of the Earl of Warwick, the 'Kingmaker'. Richard FitzHugh, 6th Baron Lovell, was influential in the Council of the North in the 1480s and maintained his position through the upheavals of the reigns of Edward IV and Richard III, as well as the early reign of Henry VII.
