Overview
Second chances, intriguing revelations, and unexpected, heartfelt connections go hand-in-hand in the latest novel in this uplifting series set in the heart of a tiny southern lakeside town.
Erin Benning never dreamed she would be a woman on the run. But after a shattering attack by an unknown assailant, the brilliant family law attorney needs a safe haven—and fast.
Bramble, Kentucky, isn’t completely off the grid, but it’s where Erin’s friend Brogan made a fresh start raising his young family. Fleeing Chicago, Erin hopes the tiny town will offer her a new beginning, or at least a decent night’s sleep at the charming local inn on Rainbow Lake. But her nerves only ramp up when she encounters Dodge Dixon lounging in her room.
The headstrong former firefighter is her total opposite: pickup truck versus luxury car. Black coffee versus herbal tea. Worst of all, he insists the comfortable, spacious suite she’s occupying belongs to him! But their stand-off softens as they begin to share each other’s painful pasts, revealing wounds that only tenderness can soothe. And in time, in his protective arms, Erin can exhale at last.
Then the phone calls begin . . .
Someone has tracked her escape to Bramble, but Erin won’t allow a stranger’s threats to derail her new dream of buying and refurbishing the inn. The precious gifts of life in Bramble—caring friends . . . fireflies lighting up the hills . . . hometown heroes to celebrate—are all she needs to recover her true self and build a forever home with her unexpected soulmate.
