A woman accepts the uncomfortable task of taking care of her ill ex-husband, despite having spent two decades apart. A family marked by the physical consequences of a terrible fire celebrates their daughter’s birthday. A woman keeps the fibroid she had removed from her uterus in a can, and another does not recognize her own hands. There are also political stories where the protagonists drag old wounds from the Basque Country’s violent past; family tales about women detached from their children, their mothers, and their own lives. Stories that call solidarity into question, or where animals matter more than people.
