Overview
Think you want a dog? Read this first—and get ready for a surprise at the end.
Lo Cole's acclaimed picture book is a hit with preschoolers, dog lovers, and any family who has kids begging for a dog. Laugh through 27 wild pups—each more lovable (and mischievous) than the last—sure to turn storytime into a howl.
Which pup will you choose? One that begs? One that sheds? One that rips things into shreds? Each page introduces a new canine character to spot, laugh at, and compare to your own pets. With energetic rhymes and bold, minimalist art, We Want a Dog captures the chaos and charm of life with a dog in the most playful way.
Praised by Kirkus Reviews as "a perfect read-aloud with a surprise twist ending," We Want a Dog is a must for any child who dreams of a pet—and every adult who knows what that dream really means.
