Overview
More than 40 years ago, Carole Bamford began a journey towards a more conscious way of life. What began as a desire to make a small difference to the health and future of our planet has grown into an organic business that has won over 100 national and international awards for sustainability and excellence. From a small herd of cows and a farm shop, Daylesford has blossomed into a hugely successful collection of interlinking endeavors that communicate and practice Lady Bamford’s personal vision for a healthier mind, body, and planet.
As stewards of the land, it is our job to teach the next generation about the connection between farm and fork and how to work with nature’s rhythms to farm the land in a way that protects its natural biodiversity and balance. But Daylesford is much more than a farm. From its core ethos comes an appreciation of our individual connection to the land, to our bodies, and to others; and a belief in the need to be mindful in everything we do—from eating with the seasons to nurturing the mind and body holistically through wellness practices and the use of natural products.
The book provides an insight into the story behind this pioneering and world-renowned company, its spirit and beliefs, and the important work that is quietly undertaken every day to try and leave the world in a better state than we find it.
